The fewest taps needed to finish the board. Three stars require matching that number without using a hint. Tiles turn one way only, so an extra tap costs you three — think before you tap.
You get hints for one fifth of the board. Unlimited hints would play the game for you. A hint always starts at the source and pushes the light one step further; it does not solve the puzzle for you.
Only on your phone. No account, no cloud, no sync. Deleting the app deletes your progress and there is no way to get it back. It does not move to a new phone.
Yes. Use Try again on the finish card, or reopen any level from the Journey map. A worse result never lowers the stars you already earned.
No, never. The game makes no network calls at all and behaves identically in airplane mode. See the privacy policy.
First check Settings → Haptics inside the app. If it is on, the cause is system-level: iOS silences all haptics when Settings → Sounds & Haptics → System Haptics is off, and also in Low Power Mode.
